Community Fundraising Officer

up to £31,928 per annum
35 hours a week
Marylebone, London
Covering South England (12 months Fixed Term Contract)

Blind Veterans UK believes that no one who has served our country should have to battle blindness alone. We offer them access to the highest quality of services to help them discover life beyond sight loss.

Our Fundraising and Communications team has expanded to enable the growth of those services and we now have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, collaborative and resourceful Community Fundraising professional to manage and grow our community fundraising stream.

We are looking for a resourceful and creative individual who has the flair to inspire and motivate a small team to generate community fundraising activities that lead to sustainable and growing income streams.

As Community Fundraising Officer, you will coordinate all community fundraisers in the South of England. You will have strong administrative, organisational and time management skills with knowledge of fundraising practice. Experience of growing community fundraising portfolios and products and creating volunteer networks as well as communicating with customers, supporters and third parties is essential for this role.

Other essential criteria for selection include excellent proven project management, planning, organisational skills to evaluate output, modifying where appropriate, ensuring optimum individual and team performance. Ideally the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven record of ability and skills to successfully grow regional and community fundraising activity in a crowded market for a similar non-profit organisation, but this role may also
suit someone who has had Corporate Social Responsibility in a large private sector organisation and wants to redirect their career or possibly someone who has had demonstrable success over a prolonged period of substantial fundraising in their local community on a voluntary basis.

2015 is our centenary year so this is a great time to join Blind Veterans UK and use this anniversary as a catalyst to boost regional fundraising activity.

To apply, please send your up to date CV and supporting statement of not more than 1000 words addressing how you meet the person specification to our recruitment email address. Click the apply button below to be redirected to our site where you can find all the relevant information.
