Head of Individual Giving
Location: Tadworth, Surrey, KT20
Salary: £48,000 per annum
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent (Part time considered minimum 27.5 hours).  One day working from home may be discussed if full time

The Children's Trust is the UK's leading charity for children with brain injury. We offer the largest residential brain injury rehabilitation unit in the country at our national, specialist centre.  We support thousands of children with mild to severe brain injuries, in our residential rehabilitation unit and in their own communities across the UK through our Brain Injury Specialist community service and our online information forum braininjuryhub. We also offer education, nursing and medical care for children with severe disabilities and complex health needs. We also carry out extensive, world class research. 

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to shaping the fundraising strategy at The Children’s Trust and make a real difference to the lives of children with brain injury.

Key responsibilities include leading on:

  • our investment to significantly increase the numbers of committed givers.
  • managing all aspects of our Individual Giving Programme including donor development, in memoriam and legacy giving, donor recruitment, stewardship, donor care, data management & analysis
  • writing business cases, produce financial models and manage substantial budgets
  • Agency management, proactively managing and negotiating with agencies to deliver to time, budget and contract and to the highest standards.
  • Team leadership, managing a diverse team of high performing fundraisers to deliver to demanding deadlines
  • Supporting development of new fundraising approaches

The ideal candidate will be/have:

  • Ideally, educated to degree level, with proven fundraising experience of direct marketing at a management level within a fundraising environment. 
  • Strong communication skills and able to present compelling data and arguments
  • Experience of managing and motivating people to deliver to the highest standards & leading a team to excel
  • Managing external agencies, negotiating and briefing to get the best results
  • Other essential skills required are:- copywriting, budget management, decision making, drive, energy, self motivation, adaptability and flexibility, highly organised and problem solving
