ADVANCE  is a well respected and well established charity working to support women to cope and recover from experiences of domestic abuse and supporting women who are at risk of offending or with short term sentences to reduce offending.  The role of Fundraising  Officer is a new post combining the strengths and partnership of both Advance and Standing Together Against Domestic Violence (STADV), our sister organisation which supports us strategically. The post will fundraise for separate projects for each and jointly run projects. Advance and STADV have a long standing relationship and are now formally delivering a pan-West London programme of support in partnership named Angelou with a total of 9 partners.  We also jointly run the Impact project, a project based in Hammersmith police station and so are used to working together and raising funds together.  The line management of the post will be held by Advance.

It is anticipated that you will work 2 days a week for STADV writing bids and 3 days a week for Advance:  2 of these days will be bid writing and a day will be event management and running and supporting the Friends of Advance, a group we are setting up to increase our influence and to run fundraising events. You will research a range of appropriate trusts and foundations to support the increased capacity of Advance and STADV creating a shortlist for both organisations in line with their strategic objectives. You will maintain a high level of awareness of funding opportunities arising to inform both organisations of new funding opportunities from both trusts and other initiatives. You will research relevant statistics and outcomes which support the need for projects and present these effectively to funders. You will develop relationships with funders wherever possible to engage them with the projects for which we are seeking funding and ensure their eligibility.

ADVANCE is committed to equality and diversity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. The post will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and is open to women only (*Exempt under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1).
