Headway Oxfordshire (HWO) is a registered charity (No 1156538) based in Kennington, Oxford and affiliated to the national organisation Headway UK.

This is a rare opportunity for a dynamic self-starter with experience of a broad range of fundraising techniques to step into their first leadership role in fundraising.

Headway Oxfordshire is the leading organisation in Oxfordshire providing a range of practical and tangible support services for those affected by brain injury. Nearly four thousand people acquired a brain injury in the county last year and national admission figures up by 10% since 2006, the demand for vital support services continues to rise.The charity also plays a vital role campaigning and lobbying for effective responses to a growing population of those living this life changing condition.

With a ‘can do’ attitude mixed with a passion for fundraising to make change happen, you will work closely with and report to the Chief Executive Officer whilst working directly with the Management Team to lead, manage and generate funding for the charity.

As Fundraiser, you will develop and implement Headway Oxfordshires fundraising strategy. In addition to generating income from a wide range of funding streams, you will be tasked with shaping fundraising priorities and establishing strong systems for managing and tracking activity.

To achieve this, you will have a successful track record within the charity sector, solid experience of developing strategies as well as sound project management skills. You will be a strong self-starter with a proven track record of income generation and a wide range of fundraising techniques, including grants, community and corporate fundraising.

As someone with expertise in your field, you will be able to support the Chief Executive Officer in raising the profile of the charity. With good communication and people skills, you will also have empathy for and understanding of the work of Headway Oxfordshire.

This role will be for an initial one-year period renewable subject to funding and performance. A flexible working package will be considered.
