Summary Description
Are you passionate about Museums and enjoy raising money to help fund activities, then we want to hear from you!

This role is to develop and implement the Derby Museums fundraising strategy, including but not limited to identifying, nurturing and developing potential individual givers, major donors and corporate supporters, organising fundraising events, making applications to trusts and foundations and cultivating legacies to generate a minimum income targets. There is also a need to generate new earned income for the Museum and this role is to help assist in commercial activities.

The Role

Derby Museums Trust is looking for an experienced and dynamic fundraiser  to develop giving relationships with major donors, individuals and legacies

The fundraiser will create growth in donations from individuals so that more high net worth individuals become committed supporters of Derby’s Museums, as well as help build the commercial side of the Museum whether that’s venue hire, events or schools programme!

Joining a committed Resources Team, you’ll work closely with colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to all stakeholders as well as managing team data and reporting.

Even though the role is advertised as FT we are keen to hear from people who are interested in a PT position (minimum 3 days a week)

The Person

We’re looking for a driven individual with proven experience in fundraising and event management. To excel at this role, you’ll be creative and resourceful with a solid understanding of all the different types of giving. You’ll have outstanding communication and networking skills and be confident to tailor your approach.

Above all else, you’ll have a strong commitment to the cultural heritage of Derby and a strong belief in your ability to make a positive impact.
