St Pauls Advice Centre (SPAC) aims to reduce poverty by providing a community based free legal advice service and is looking for a Fundraising Officer to help support our work in Bristol. This part time position is initially for 18 months with view to a possible extension.

This year marks the 800th anniversary of the sealing of the Magna Carta which includes one of the most important clauses in legal history: “to no one will we sell, to no one deny or delay right or justice”. So it’s hard to believe that some people in our society still do not have access to justice.

The need for free legal advice centres has grown in the past few years. The recession has increased poverty and reduced support services. Meanwhile funding for the advice centres themselves has reduced. The work of SPAC is now, more than ever, vitally important to ensuring that access to justice for all, remains possible.

You can play a key part within our small team by being our Fundraising Officer. Reporting to the Centre Manager, the Fundraising Officer will be responsible for co-ordinating all SPAC’s Trust, Corporate and community fundraising activity. In particular, helping to identify, develop and manage relationships with small trusts relevant to the work of SPAC services. The Fundraising Officer will also administer a donor stewardship programme for this area of work and co-ordinate information held in the organisational database for Trusts activity.

We are looking for someone who has the ability to achieve results; possesses excellent communication, organisational and analytical skills; is a strong team worker and can demonstrate a respect for diversity.

We offer flexible working and a generous benefits package:

  • Salary: £26,293 (£15779 pro rata)
  • Annual Leave: 30 days per year ( pro rata)
  • Extra 3 days annual leave between Xmas & New Year (office closure)
  • Pension Scheme: 5% employers contribution
  • Flexible working hours: 21 hours per week
  • Opportunity for home working

Closing Date:  Friday 30th Oct at 5pm

Interview Date:  Friday 13th Nov
