This is an exciting opportunity for a Trust Manager to work for The Steel Charitable Trust:

  • a grant-making Trust, distributing grants totalling about £1.1 million a year
  • strong connection in the Bedfordshire area particularly in Luton

Trust Manager
Location: Bedfordshire
Salary: £36,000 plus benefits for 28 hours a week

The Role:

  • New role is being created by the Trustees for a four day week (28 hours)
  • Responsibilities will include establishing and running a new office in the Luton area
  • Grant administration
  • Preparing quarterly management and annual accounts; producing a variety of financial spread sheets
  • Preparing for and taking minutes at Trustee meetings and liaising with charities, particularly within Bedfordshire
  • Management level role starting in the Spring of 2016 (probably 1 April 2016).

The Person – essential requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of accounting – preferably an ACCA or equivalent qualification
  • Capable of working on your own
  • Computer literate
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience of working with boards or committees and 5-8 years’ experience in a management role
  • Car owner with a clean driving licence is essential.
