Main responsibilities of the Role

To manage specific delegated areas of fundraising, especially concerning the management and development of fundraising in the community and the promotion of events and appeals and to help develop the use of volunteering at the Animals’ Refuge.

Key areas / activities:

  • To manage specific community and events fundraising, ensuring that appropriate procedures and legislation is adhered to and that such fundraising is cost-effective.
  • To develop new initiatives for fundraising within the local community and to ensure the opportunities to apply Gift Aid to donations are fully exploited and claimed on a regular basis
  • To assist with the promotion and marketing of fundraising initiatives
  • To undertake specific project and appeal work as required
  • To support the recruitment, induction and management of volunteers.
  • To maintain and develop all databases, appropriate filing systems and data storage, ensuring confidentiality is maintained, that information is recorded accurately and that all systems are in good order
  • To prepare mailings and assist with the preparation of reports based on information in databases as required, and draw up other lists as required, to promote and extend the refuge’s activities.To input to and produce reports as required, to provide accurate information for senior management and for the benefit of the department.
  • To attend any necessary meetings and events, both internal and external, contributing to discussions on issues and participating in activities, which effect all fundraising activities and the reputation of the Animals’ Refuge.
  • To work with colleagues within the dept. and provide cover as may be required from time to time to ensure the smooth running of the dept. and continuity.
  • To liaise closely with all members of staff and volunteers in all depts., maintaining good relationships
  • To promote the work of the refuge externally, maintaining good relations with all individuals and organisations with whom come into contact
  • To undertake duties out of normal office hours when necessary
  • To undertake any other duties as required from time to time and commensurate with the role
  • To help maintain and develop the Website and Social Media presence for the charity

Performance Management / Training and Development

  • To attend appraisal meetings, team meetings and training sessions
  • To ensure adequate training is undertaken by self, in accordance with priorities identified at the annual appraisal, and that training is provided for volunteers
  • To engage with Line Management supervision, and to complete work targets within the agreed time-scale
  • To attend all mandatory training within the time scale required and you will be assessed as competent when required
  • To keep your line manager informed of the progress of your work, to present information in both verbal and written form as appropriate to audience
  • To work towards the achievement of relevant qualification to ensure that staff are appropriately qualified
  • You will undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required by your line manager or senior management team.
