WCMC is now recruiting a Head of Development to drive and improve UNEP-WCMC’s project development. This important role aims to deliver a strengthened development pipeline, which is healthy, sustainable and effectively delivers an ongoing stream of high quality, strategic and impactful projects with key partners.

As the Head of Development, reporting to the Director of Partnerships and Development at UNEP-WCMC, you will play a key role in improving our internal development processes and capabilities, and enhancing our external profile amongst partners, clients and funders. In addition to your coordination of our fundraising activities, you will strengthen development competencies across the Centre and will provide support to our communications function.

You will have proven success in successful, large scale fundraising and development activities and will be skilled at writing and pitching high quality proposals and concepts. You will bring your exceptional interpersonal skills to the post, where you will develop productive relationships with a range of clients, donors, foundations and other funding sources, as well as with staff across the Centre. With a focus on our strategic impact and a desire for continuous development, you will be results orientated, with the drive to see things through to a successful outcome.  Although proven development experience is of primary importance, an interest in international biodiversity and conservation will be an asset in this position.
