UCL Development and Alumni Relations

Communications Officer (Dementia) 60% FTE

Part Time : 21.9 (60% FTE)

The appointment will be on UCL Grade 6. The salary range will be £27,246 to £31,930 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

There has never been a more exciting time to join UCL’s Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO). We are currently in the momentum-building phase for a major new fundraising and supporter engagement campaign, expected to launch publicly in 2016. The communications team is key in ensuring that we create exciting content that speaks to our target audiences, and encourages them to share in our vision. We are looking for a part-time Communications Officer to work with us on our Dementia Retail Partnership. They will contribute to the delivery and evaluation of communications that demonstrate the impact of UCL Dementia research to retail staff and customers. This will include producing e-newsletters, websites, multimedia, social media and print brochures. The role will also support the generation of national media and PR coverage, arranging interviews and managing photoshoots and filming. This role is pivotal in supporting the communications Manager in delivering communications collateral for the Dementia Retail Partnership. This is an ideal role if you are an enthusiastic self-starter who is passionate about communications and is just as comfortable proofreading to a deadline as you are working with social media or writing an online news story.

The post is funded for 12 months in the first instance.

You will have some experience from previous roles in communications and marketing, and an understanding of producing excellent written work that speaks to a range of audiences. You work best in a fast-paced environment with an ever-changing list of priorities, and have outstanding organisational skills.
