This role is to be based in a new office opening soon in Brussels. To succeed, you will need to be a self-starter, comfortable operating with little direct supervision, sourcing funds from EU and others.

Action Contre La Faim’s teams work in 46 countries worldwide to carry out innovative, life-saving programmes in nutrition, food security, water, sanitation and hygiene. They save the lives of malnourished children and provide families with access to safe water and good nutrition. In 2014 Action Contre La Faim helped over 13.6 million people.

Person Specification

Essential Experience
• At least 5 – 10 years working with institutional donors
• Developing strategic fund-raising plans for institutional and philanthropic donors
• Experience of managing a small team
• Assessing and advising on financial and programme risks, working with the finance department.
• Developing and maintaining broad networks of stakeholders
Qualifications/ Education
• To Masters level or significant senior experience in a relevant INGO setting.

Key Skills
• Concise, coherent writing, influencing and representation skills
• Ability to negotiate skilfully to secure funding for ACF’s work
• Ability to identify possible donors and secure sufficient funds to meet ACF’s programme ambitions

Personal Qualities
• Proactive and self-motivating with minimal need for external supervision
• A persuasive and persistent leader, able to engage others
• Ability to work fluently in English and French, with a strong preference for Spanish as well
• Ability to travel in Europe and to programme areas (approx. 30% of the time after initial induction)

The candidate will need to have an existing right to live and work in the European Union.
