The Individual Giving Manager is responsible for generating income from our core value segment (circa £800k) via a combination of committed giving, appeals, legacies and merchandise. You will work with your team and across all areas of Stonewall to achieve this as a part of, and in support of, Stonewall’s wider strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities and duties

  • Implement Individual Giving Strategy ensuring appropriate testing and innovation is underpinned by supporting evidence
  • Deliver multiple income generating direct marketing campaigns 
  • Develop campaign and appeal messaging appropriate to wide range of audiences 
  • Make recommendations on segmentation and hierarchy based on segmentation analysis and work with Database officer to implement appeal testing.  
  • Take responsibility for the individual giving income and expenditure budget, producing financial reports, monitoring income, preparing forecasts and variance analysis.  
  • Keep abreast of the individual giving markets, identifying trends, competitor activity and changes in regulations
  • Manage and deliver an effective cold donor recruitment campaign
  • Recruit and develop committed givers, maximising income from this area, including encouraging lapsed donors to resume giving and upgrading gifts where appropriate
  • Manage legacy marketing and develop an in memoriam communication and marketing strategy
  • Manage the development and sale of Stonewall merchandise, and grow this area as an income stream
  • Manage the Individual Giving Officer and Fundraising Assistant, setting objectives and managing performance
  • Manage the relationship with external agencies, reviewing contracts, ensuring legal compliance and briefing, monitoring and appraising the delivery of high quality visual and written marketing material
