UCL Development and Alumni Relations

Prospect Development Manager

The appointment will be full time on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £33,686 – £40,716 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.

UCL is looking for a proactive and dynamic Prospect Development Manager to join its growing team. As the Development team expands across the board, the post-holder will have the opportunity to join UCL as we launch into a ground-breaking Campaign, raising money for a variety of projects under the four main themes of Health, Students, London and Disruptive Thinking.

UCL is London’s Global University. We do things differently here and we take the long view. We are not afraid to take risks. We remain focused on making a major contribution to the long term benefit of humanity. We are in the final stages of planning a significant fundraising and supporter engagement campaign to launch in late 2016.

Our campaign will have a transformational impact on our cutting edge research into dementia and cancer, projects like UCL’s Centre of Access to Justice, and will give even more students from a variety of backgrounds the opportunity to study here. There has never been a more exciting time to join our Development and Alumni Relations office (DARO).

As Prospect Development Manager you will be responsible for proactively identifying new prospects and working strategically with the fundraising teams to inform their decision-making process and direct fundraising activity. You will also build relationships across the University and beyond with academic staff, stakeholders and DARO supporters, gaining their buy-in to DARO activity and gathering information about donors, prospects and projects in which they might be interested.

You will have previous experience undertaking prospect research in a charity, higher education or in a relevant equivalent environment. You will be resourceful, tenacious and curious in conducting research tasks. You possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and have a track record of proactively building sound working relationships with key external and internal stakeholders.

We are also happy to consider applications from candidates seeking part-time opportunities (minimum 0.6 FTE – equivalent of 3 days per week, above salary to be pro-rata).
