Legacy Stewardship Manager - Temporary (up to 12 months)

RNLI Headquarters, Poole, Dorset

£30,067 - £35,373 (dependent on experience)

This exciting new role has been created to design, deliver and evaluate the impact of providing high-level, bespoke stewardship to those supporters who have pledged to leave a large gift to the RNLI in their Will.

A significant proportion of the RNLI’s annual income is generated through supporters leaving gifts in their Wills. Those supporters pledging to leave a gift are kept up to date on the work of the charity, shown how their gift will help the life saving work and made aware of how much the organisation values their support and the difference it can make to saving lives at sea.

The RNLI continues to strive for excellence, delivering the best and most relevant supporter journey and looking to be at the forefront of innovation by ensuring we stay in touch with our supporters in a way that adds value to their relationship with us.  The successful candidate will establish how these high-level pledgers wish to interact with the charity and design a bespoke stewardship journey for them, ensuring that the donor’s needs and expectations are met.

This is a 12-month pilot, and so the post holder will need to establish measures early on to demonstrate how this role is positively impacting on the engagement of the individual, their affinity with the RNLI and ultimately maintaining or growing their intention to leave a gift in their Will.

This role will require an excellent stakeholder manager as the team works with many different channels, but in particular you will work closely with the Legacy Product Manager and the Senior Philanthropy Manager, experts in legacy and high-level stewardship.

A solid understanding of legacy or philanthropic giving, and engaging with high net worth individuals is advantageous. This role will demand excellent customer service skills and the ability to engage on a 1-2-1 basis. Experience of project management and delivering strategy would also be beneficial.

This role will be based at the RNLI Headquarters in Poole, but some travel may be required to meet with donors, host events and to engage with internal stakeholders.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the writing and delivery of these plans, and for building innovative future ways of engaging, inspiring and stewarding the target audience.
