Lighthouse is Poole’s Centre for the Arts. As a publicly funded organisation, Lighthouse is just completing an exciting capital development that will future-proof the Centre for generations to come.

At this important time for the Centre’s development, and in the context of a challenging environment for income generation, Lighthouse requires a practical and hands on experienced fundraiser to secure sustainable income from a range of funding sources.

The Head of Fundraising is part of the Senior Management Team reporting directly to the Chief Executive and will lead on development and delivery of all aspects of our fundraising strategy, including completing the Love Lighthouse appeal campaign launched in 2015.

The post holder will be responsible for delivering the development strategy and raising funds from a wide range of sources to meet both short-term and longer-term targets, and will assume all fundraising responsibilities for the organisation.

A primary responsibility will be to complete the fundraising required to complete a £5.3 million capital project (£130k remaining), and to complete and drive the public phase of the Appeal.

The postholder will also work with the Chief Executive to raise new funding for the Centre, developing excellent proposals to support Lighthouses’ exciting plans for the artistic and learning and participation programme.

The successful candidate will be an excellent and expert relationship builder with a good track record in major supporter fundraising (High Net Worth, Trusts, Corporate), as well as in marketing and fundraising techniques to successfully manage appeals.  They will be able to build a strong, compelling and impassioned case for support, be creative and have strong influencing and leadership skills and complex project management experience.

The successful candidate will be confident and experienced in working with the Senior Management Team including the Board and will inspire confidence in their ability and determination to ensure that the campaign is a success.

The post holder will be responsible for driving the fundraising that will also support the creation of a new fundraising team.
