Exeter Royal Academy for Deaf Education is embarking on its most

exciting project for a generation.

A £23M new building will transform the lives of Deaf people, giving Deaf students the best possible start in life whilst placing them right at the heart of the local community.

The Deaf Academy will be launching a major fundraising appeal next year to ensure this vision becomes a reality and, if you have what it takes, you could be part of this remarkable story.

The Academy’s Fundraising and Marketing Director is building an outstanding team of experienced fundraisers, a team which will set the benchmark for fundraising in the South West, and lay the foundations, not just for the new Academy building, but for future fundraising for this highly innovative and internationally significant organisation.

Key to the development of this outstanding team is the recruitment of an experienced Fundraiser – Community & Corporate, who will be responsible for:

  • Working alongside the Head of Public Appeal to deliver a successful public capital appeal for the new building.
  • Taking ownership of specific projects to support the development and implementation of a strategy for raising funds from Corporate and Community bodies, both for the appeal and for ongoing Academy fundraising.
  • Working as part of the Fundraising team, responsible for embedding an organisational ‘culture’ of fundraising within the Deaf Academy.
  • Assisting in the writing and delivery of proposals, pitches, bids and applications for funding from Corporate and Community sources.
  • Taking a lead role in the support of new and existing fundraising supporters and in delivering mass participation events e.g. the Exeter Street Slide

For the right candidates this presents an excellent opportunity to not only be part of a hugely exciting new project, but also play a role in the establishment of a dynamic new fundraising team which will go on to enable our work for many years to come.

Our website has a great deal of useful information on the activities of the charity and the new build project.

Terms & Conditions: 37 hours per week, permanent contract starting as soon as possible. Benefits include 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
