It’s hard to believe that today over 650 million people still don’t have clean, safe water and 2.3 billion live without a toilet. The resulting diseases kill one child every two minutes.

WaterAid is looking for a Programme Funding Officer (DFID UK Aid Match) to play a vital role in our mission to transform lives with safe water, sanitation and hygiene in the world’s poorest communities.

Working within the Programme Funding Unit, the Programme Funding Officer - DFID UK Aid Match will

  • Lead on the management of UK Aid Match funding to maximise potential funding from this source.
  • Collaborate with WaterAid’s country programmes, regional teams and other WaterAid staff to build organisational capacity to explore, access and manage institutional funding.
  • Support country programmes to develop funding proposals and manage grants, ensuring compliance to DFID's contract conditions and promoting best practices in contract management.

To be successful, you’ll need to be

  • Experienced in fundraising for international NGOs from institutional donors, and building and maintaining strong relationships with donors.
  • Confident in managing a multi-million-pound grant that covers multiple countries/regions, including conducting training and working with people from a range of cultural, social and ethnic backgrounds and with different skills.
  • Familiar with the policies, procedures and rules regarding proposals and grant management for DFID and other institutional donors.

By 2030 we want everyone everywhere to have clean water and sanitation. We need you to help us make it happen. If you bring your expertise, passion and professionalism, we’ll give you a lot back.

Working with us, you will be entitled to a wide range of employee benefits, such as an exceptional pension fund, medical cash plans, an employee assistance programme, generous annual leave and Save As You Learn schemes, as well as fitness and lifestyle programmes.
