About the role: 

The purpose of this role is to develop, manage and grow major gifts. This includes the cultivation of relationships with HNWI and other high profile supporters. 

The post holder will develop and implement a major donor strategy as part of the overall fundraising strategy and ensure they maximise the potential income from major donors. You will create networking opportunities to source and establish new relationships, whilst providing leadership and direction to the team, building excellent relationships and support the on-going work with existing patrons and ambassadors. 

About you: 

The successful candidate will be an experienced fundraiser with a proven track record of securing major gifts. Good working knowledge of philanthropy trends, events and legislation in the UK is essential, as is experience of developing and managing major givers and high net worth individuals. You will need to be a confident user of MS Office and have demonstrable skills in diplomacy, tact and engagement of high profile individuals. 

Experience of high profile event management is vital, you will also need to be able to generate and manage a significant size budget and have up to date knowledge of UK charity law and best practice. 

It is desirable that you have experience of working for a national UK registered charity, and have a relevant fundraising, sales or marketing qualification. Experience of Raiser’s Edge (or similar databases) and possess Membership of The Institute of Fundraising or accredited professional bodies. 

This role is London based and you will be required to travel around the UK where necessary.
