Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 100 Chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin (TI-S), Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.

The External Stakeholders Engagement team works to increase visibility, engagement and resources. We sit at the centre of the organisation, having strong relationships with colleagues across the secretariat and the movement. Resource Development is a crucial component of this work and diversifying TI’s income base is a priority moving forward. This new position for a Major Donor Fundraiser is a key role within Transparency International’s drive to diversify its income streams.

Main function: Based in Berlin, Germany, but working closely with National Chapters around the world, the Major Donor / HNWI fundraiser will lead the development and implementation of TI’s fundraising strategies and approaches towards Major Donors / HNWIs, increasing the movement’s income from these donor targets.

Responsibilities

Working collaboratively and closely with TI-S colleagues and with TI Chapters around the world

  • Grow income from Major Donors/HNWIs for the Transparency International movement
  • Manage the entire cycle of Major Donors/HNWIs fundraising (strategy and planning; identification and prospect research; making the ask; stewardship; and reporting)
  • Provide specialist expertise, technical assistance and further support to TI colleagues
  • Develop and oversee a TI movement-wide fundraising community of practice related to Major Donors / HNWIs, in order to foster horizontal learning, exchange of experiences and sharing of ideas
  • Contribute to additional Resource Development deliverables, particularly fundraising from Trusts

Knowledge, experience and skills

  • Undergraduate university degree or professional qualification in social science, marketing, business administration, international relations, or other relevant fields
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in resource development of which at least minimum 3 years directly on Major Donors/HNWIs fundraising
  • Knowledge of, or considerable interest in, the work of Transparency International and the field of anti-corruption
  • Demonstrated experience in knowledge sharing and capacity development
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of other languages such as Spanish, French, German and/or Arabic an advantage
  • Extensive social and intercultural skills
  • Self-starting and highly flexible and adaptive
  • Willingness to travel
