We are looking for a talented and motivated Individual Giving Officer to join us and help increase our income from individuals. It’s a real time of change for Refugee Action, as we look to significantly grow our brand, our fundraising and importantly our income.

Refugee Action is a national charity, dedicated to fighting for the rights of refugees in the UK. There has never been a more crucial time to stand up to the injustice facing refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. With more than 30 years’ experience providing face to face advice, and an established record of changing government policy, we help people who’ve survived some of the world’s worst regimes to secure the protection and support that they need to live with dignity and build a new life in the UK.

Working as part of our dynamic fundraising team, you will plan, produce, test and implement a full range of donor recruitment and development techniques and use your expertise to make recommendations on their long-term investment potential.

Working closely with the other fundraisers and our digital team you will also implement a supporter journey, which inspires individuals to increase their lifetime value in order to grow sustainable income for Refugee Action. You’ll also play a key part in helping develop joined up, multi-channel fundraising and campaigning  initiatives to engage with the UK public in the most inspiring and effective ways possible.

To succeed in this role you will have:

  • Experience of working in direct marketing with demonstrable success in managing a range of donor recruitment and development techniques
  • A thorough understanding of the legal and ethical framework surrounding charity fundraising
  • Experience of analysing and interpreting complex numerical, financial and statistical data accurately
