Business Development Officer (Charity) 

This is a unique opportunity to join national charity Walsingham Support in North London, as part of the Marketing, Communications, Fundraising and Business Development team. This newly formed department is at the forefront of delivering ambitious plans and strategies across the charity. Although primarily focused on Business Development, the role offers an exciting blend of strategy, planning and creativity in a collaborative team environment. 

As a charity they have been challenging and changing the way support is delivered to individuals with learning disabilities, autism, acquired brain injuries and complex needs across England and Wales for the last 30 years. They are looking for the right people to join them now and help secure their legacy for the next 30 years and beyond. 

Position: Business Development Officer

About the role: 

The main purpose of this role is to support the Operations and Development team with the growth of services, the drafting of tender documents, monitoring the tender process and the collection & preparation of necessary performance information. This will help deliver the organisations long term business development strategy. You will by support and communicate with the wider Marketing and Communications team to ensure that the business development strategy and the wider organisation communications and development strategies support each other. 

You will monitor competitor information and assess price and performance against similar organisations, whilst monitoring commissioning strategies and contract opportunities in existing and new areas. Supporting and working with the Head of Marketing and Communications, Fundraising and Business Development you will ensure that Walsingham Support has high quality information for tender submissions including case studies, method statements and key organisational data. 

About you: 

To be successful in this role, you will have a Maths and English GCSE at grade A-C or equivalent. It is also desirable that you have a relevant qualification for this role. You must have evidence and commitment to continued professional development as well as previous project co-ordination, data management, planning and Project Management experience. Good communication skills at all levels are also required, as are strong IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. 

Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop and update systems and processes is essential. You must be able to network with relevant organisations, and build and maintain relationships both internally and externally, accepting constructive feedback. The ability to work under pressure, and effectively plan and manage your own time is essential. Experience of supporting business development strategies is beneficial, as is experience of implementing this. It is all desirable that you have experience within the care and support sector or in an environment where you have contributed to supporting business development strategies. 

You must have the ability to travel to different parts of the organisation and to spend nights away from home.
