About Penal Reform International

Penal Reform International (PRI) is an international NGO that develops and promotes fair, effective and proportionate responses to criminal justice problems worldwide. Our head office is in London and we also work from regional offices in Jordan, Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Uganda, and with partners in other countries. We are passionately committed to achieving our objectives:

  • a criminal justice system that respects the rule of law, upholds the rights of suspects and defendants and prevents the unnecessary use of pre-trial detention;

  • fair and proportionate sentencing that takes account of the circumstances of both the offence and offender;

  • humane treatment and conditions for prisoners and prevention of torture in all places of detention;

  • safer communities through rehabilitation, reintegration interventions and interventions to reduce re-offending

We are looking to increase the impact of our work by diversifying our pool of donors beyond a small number of institutions, and growing new and sustainable sources of funding.

About you

The Fundraising Manager will work closely with PRI’s Executive Director and Management Team to design and implement a new fundraising strategy to maximise PRI’s income.

To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record in growing fundraising networks and significantly increasing income from institutional donors, trusts, foundations and other funding sources, within an international not-for-profit organisation. You will have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work collaboratively with international colleagues and partners to develop proposals and budgets in line with the organisation’s priorities. A background in human rights/criminal justice is essential.
