Role purpose

Working with the Head of Trusts and Research, to ensure the timely submission of excellent funding proposals, reports and other donor documentation, to enhance the fundraising team’s ability to generate funds across a broad range of income streams and geographical regions.

Core elements include: (i) writing and designing clear, compelling, well-designed funding proposals, reports and other donor documentation (ii) recording and ensuring compliance with all proposal and reporting submission deadlines (iii) identifying and researching individual, trust and foundation, government and corporate funding prospects from a wide range of geographical locations (iv) researching trust and foundation application processes, including deadlines, format, eligibility and other requirements.

Essential Skills, knowledge and experience

  • A passion for the vision of the HTB Group.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to write and design clear, compelling, persuasive funding proposals and reports.
  • Strong research, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent numerical skills and a solid understanding (or ability to learn and develop understanding) of budgets insofar as they relate to funding proposals and reports.
  • Highly motivated, positive and proactive, with the ability to use own initiative, assess, manage and prioritise a varied workload, and work to deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs - in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook – online research tools such as Facebook and Linked-in, and advanced internet searching skills. The role holder will be expected to have or to have the capacity to develop excellent InDesign and Raiser’s Edge skills.
  • Strong team player.
  • Discretion - understanding the need to keep donor information confidential.
  • Willingness to occasionally work outside standard office hours as required.

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience

  • Experience of working with InDesign and the Raisers Edge database.
