Director of Fundraising

Are you an ambitious, entrepreneurial and high performing leader who just isn’t satisfied with the status quo...?

Do you want to join a Charity who are at the forefront of the fight to defeat brain tumours, making a difference every day to the lives of people with a brain tumour and their families?

If you are a creative and dynamic self-starter with energy and vision – then you can be part of this amazing charity!

Charity: The Brain Tumour Charity
Position: Director of Fundraising
Location: Farnborough, Hampshire
Job Type: Permanent, full time
Salary: circa £75,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Job Purpose:

Simply, to raise £10m next year, growing at least 10% per annum in a fast paced charity and making an extraordinary impact every day.

Is that easy? No, it’s really tough and what’s more, you’ll need to be a fantastic addition to our senior leadership team, work really hard, be principled, have fun every day, be partial to the odd slice of cake and make a great cup of tea!

You will plan, organise, lead and grow all of the Charity’s fundraising including, trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, major gifts, legacies, challenges and special events. The Director works closely with the CEO and other members of the senior leadership team in all development and fundraising endeavours.

About you:

You will inspire everyone, all the time, at every moment, so you can achieve the growth they need to fulfil their strategic goals.

You will have significant fundraising leadership experience, or as a senior leader in marketing / business development or client services within a significant commercial organisation. That said, they care more about aptitude than perfect experience and they always appreciate an unusual career trajectory.

Whatever sector you come from, you will be a self-assured ambassador who can project credibility and confidence to a wide range of stakeholders (particularly HNWI) and strategically lead 30 talented colleagues to deliver excellence.

You will maintain that march when things are going well and when they're falling behind (hopefully that never happens, but they know, that's life).

You will have an enthusiasm and passion for their strategy and relish being accountable for driving innovation and identifying opportunities to diversify and grow their income.

You will believe in giving their amazing community of supporters a stake in the future of their organisation and the power of word of mouth and advocacy. You care about the ROI but are savvy enough to know that sometimes the bottom line isn’t everything.

The CRM (preferably Salesforce) is your best friend and whilst your analytical skills could make you a fantasy sports champion, you'd rather use those skills for a great cause.

You thrive in fast paced environments and get bored when things are too slow or too easy (not that that’s happened here. Ever).

You may have experience of the following: Director of Fundraising, Head of Fundraising, Charity, Charities, Third Sector, Fundraising Director, Not For Profit, Senior Fundraising Manager, Trust, Individual Giving, Director of Fundraising, Development Manager, Corporate Partnerships, Engagement, Relationship Building, Sales Manager, Business Development, Key Account Manager, Field Sales Executive, New Business, Territory Sales Manager, Account Management, etc.
