RSPB High Value Fundraising is looking for a proven major donor fundraiser to join the ambitious High Value Fundraising Team as Head of Major Donor Development.  We are looking for an individual who deeply concerned about the environment and who wants to make a professional commitment towards overcoming the challenges that face our planet.

The High Value Fundraising Team is committed to the RSPB mission of saving wild nature. As Head of Major Donor Development, you will lead the formulation and implementation of a major donor programme.

The successful candidate will have experience in all aspects of major donor development and will be responsible for cultivating a personal portfolio of prospects and donors, managing a team of development officers to create major donor strategies for engagement, contributing to the shaping of ambitious projects for this audience and working with the Head of High Value Fundraising on the overall High Value strategy.

As a motivated and experienced major donor fundraising professional, this is a great opportunity to take a step up, shape a major donor programme and inspire staff and other team members towards securing higher income.  You will have negotiated and personally solicited a number of donations of at least 6 figures, understand the gift acceptance and donation processes, used a fundraising database and worked within a major donor stewardship programme.  Your superb relationship-building skills and excellent communication abilities will identify and secure the support of new high net worth individual philanthropists for some of the RSPB’s major conservation initiatives.

The High Value Fundraising Team is beginning to develop a major campaign and has ambitions to be the top conservation organisation in the UK and amongst the best in the world.  Early and exciting opportunities exist to contribute to the shaping of such a campaign and to establish your reputation as an outstanding fundraising professional.

We would love to hear from candidates who can demonstrate their experience of effectively prospecting and managing high level funder relationships, alongside their experience of working in a target driven environment.  Importantly, we seek those driven by the desire, ambition and commitment to address the challenges facing the environment. You will join a dynamic, friendly and fun team working to deliver high quality stewardship and ensure major donors are kept fully appraised of developments in what will be a rapidly changing, energetic and exciting period of conservation innovation.
