A London-based charity with seven international centres and global reach is looking for an experienced fundraiser who is passionate about the Bible as good news for everyone, everywhere, and is keen to help us extend our ministry.

The successful candidate will already have experience of different areas of fundraising, particularly high value donor and/or trust fundraising, and will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in engaging donors. Most of all, you will be motivated by the work that SGM Lifewords does, and excited about the challenge of winning more funding and support for this.

The post-holder will work as part of a small team, focusing particularly on new income – through furthering partnerships with trusts and high value donors. As part of the team the Development Officer will contribute to income generating initiatives outside of their own area of responsibility. An outstanding candidate will relish the opportunity of engaging prospective donors, and will be confident in writing bids and forging new relationships.

Reporting to an experienced fundraising manager, this post provides an excellent learning opportunity for someone looking to extend their knowledge and practice in faith-based charity fundraising. You will be joining the organisation during a renewal of our message and branding – providing plenty of opportunity to implement new ideas and exercise creativity in how we build dynamic and fruitful relationships with the next generation of supporters.

This is a full-time role, and is based in our Central London office (at Waterloo). Salary range £28,000 - £32,000 pa plus pension, dependent on experience. Flexible or part-time working would be considered for an exceptional candidate.

The successful applicant must have a commitment to the Christian faith and share the vision and ethos of SGM Lifewords, with an interest in and affinity with the cause of furthering effective Bible engagement for personal and community transformation. (See the ‘About Us’ section of our website.) This is an occupational requirement under the UK Equality Act 2010.

Please apply with your CV and a covering letter telling us why you are suitable for the post.
