TRUST & GRANTS FUNDRAISER

Full Time 37.5 Hours per Week (Job share applications are welcome)

Providing hospice care requires significant funds.  Currently for every £1 from the NHS, Dorothy House Hospice Care has to raise £4 through our income generation streams (91p in every £1 raised funds our charitable activity).

To support our ambitions we are looking for a passionate, proven fundraiser to maximise our income from charitable trusts, grants and foundations across the UK and further afield as and when appropriate.  Although a “stand alone” brief you will be part of a highly dynamic and progressive Business Development team and you will be expected to contribute to their wider agenda.

Well versed and experienced in Trust / Grant applications probably from within the charitable, education or commercial sectors. You will demonstrate excellent written and communication skills and will be a proven self-starter, a researcher, an opportunist, analytical and determined by nature. The successful candidate will have a penchant for retaining alliances and identifying new trusts and foundations to support our work.

Specifically candidates should :-

- Have a strong and practical understanding of Trust and Grants fundraising

- have a proven track record of success in achieving challenging targets

- Demonstrable ability to write compelling and innovative proposals and funding reports

- Demonstrate negotiating and influencing skills.

We want you to be passionate about what we do and the difference you can make to our cause. In return we will offer you a compelling journey of job satisfaction and personal challenge.  We offer an excellent basic salary, 25% staff discount, pension (7% employer contribution) and life insurance alongside a commitment to your development and career progression.

Dorothy House Hospice Care is an organisation driven to provide the very best care and support to patients, families and carers across our 700 sq miles. Over the last 40 years we have supported and cared for over 45,000 patients, carers and families.  We are innovative and pioneering and deliver exceptional care as recognised by our recent award of an ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission. We have a vision and bold plans for the future.

our mantra for our patient is a simple one:

“You matter because you are you, and you matter to the end of your life. We will do all we can not only to help you die peacefully, but also to “live until you die“. (Dame Cecily Saunders)

Our aim is to equip individuals and communities with the knowledge and skills to respond to life-limiting illnesses with dignity, compassion and – above all – humanity. Our education and training programmes are at the forefront of this work.
