About us

Our vision is simple: we want a better world - where corruption is challenged and accountability prevails, where all can thrive within the planet’s boundaries, and governments act in the public interest.

At Global Witness we investigate and campaign to stop human rights and environmental abuses caused by corruption and the exploitation of natural resources.

About the role

In 2016 we raised £10m from our established and successful institutional fundraising programme, making it our most successful year to date.

Developing our high value fundraising programme is now a priority for the organisation and our CEO is committed to leading fundraising efforts at the highest levels.

As our Head of Major Gifts, you’ll maximise revenue through effective identification and cultivation of prospects to help us meet our ambitious fundraising targets.

You’ll contribute to delivering our annual fundraising targets, successfully facilitating and securing further income from our existing high value relationships.

About you

You’ll bring experience of working with high net worth individuals, senior staff and volunteers in a quick and target-driven environment.  You’ll also be adaptable and articulate, quick to grasp and interpret information.

We’ll be looking to you to identify new fundraising opportunities so a creative and entrepreneurial outlook is essential.

Finally, collaborative by nature you’ll work sensitively to develop fundraising opportunities with a broad range of colleagues from our campaigners through to our communications team.

What you can expect from us

We’ll reward you through a combination of exciting and creative work together with a sector competitive salary and benefits package, high levels of engagement and involvement, and a commitment to your development.

Benefits include a generous leave allowance, pension scheme and health insurance as well as opportunities to work flexibly in an engaging and friendly environment.

We aim to be a diverse and inclusive place to work.  We value new perspectives, original ideas and different ways of working. We believe that diverse views and experiences improve the way we do our work. We do our best to make our jobs accessible to all regardless of race, colour, religious belief, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other groups as protected by law.
