Shine is looking to significantly grow services over the next five years which means income generation must be in line with our strategic aims. We believe we will achieve our goals by engaging a specialist fundraising team. A team dedicated to the cause, with the breadth of knowledge and proven success to deliver income beyond expectations.

The fundraising team will be led by a Development Fundraising Manager and consist of a FTE Community Fundraising Specialist, FTE Corporate Specialist, FTE Challenge Event Fundraiser, and 2 PTE Community & SME Fundraisers in the field. The team is expected to grow in line with attained fundraising targets.

Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Communications and based in Peterborough, you will lead your team and have a thorough understanding of all areas of fundraising. You will understand audiences, segmentation, donor journeys, and moves management. You will have at least three or more years’ experience in the fundraising field and previous experience in the commercial field. You and your team will grow income through ethical, legal and relational fundraising methods which includes utilising multi media channels and fundraising methods.  

Working with the Trust & Grants Manager and the Comms & Marketing Manager you will diversify funding for core services and special projects once these have been signed off by the Senior Management Team. You will develop targets, cases for support and help identify prospects and audiences for members of your team to grow income.

You and your team of 5 will develop income on a national level as well as locally where clinics and projects take place. For example, seek funding for a Shine Clinic at The John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford by working in partnership with Shine members, local stakeholders/prospects such as Companies, Clubs, Individuals, Adult Groups, and Organisations in the Hospital catchment area.

Working with the Director of Fundraising and Comms and the Marketing Manager you will develop fundraising products to drive income. Shine’s USP are ten virtual balloon races a year. A small sales team based in Peterborough generate £840K per year garnered from a high number and wide range of companies. In order to enhance and maximise income, you will work with the Corporate fundraiser and team leader in developing and cross selling products and engaging staff within these companies with the long term aim of securing Corporate Agreements.

Shine’s strategic intent is to develop health education in schools delivered by service staff working in the field where Shine members who are children of school age live. You and the Specialist Community Fundraiser will be expected to develop this area of income as a priority while working with fundraisers and service staff in the field. Therefore, you will need to have a firm understanding and proven success in developing community income and building strong internal relationships.

There are opportunities to travel throughout the UK as you will be expected to pitch to different audiences and work with service staff across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
