Are you a positive and creative Special Events Fundraiser who would like to work for a charity leading the way in type 1 diabetes research? If so we would love to hear from you.

JDRF is the type 1 diabetes charity, improving lives until we find the cure.  We fund research to cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes. We also provide information for children and adults living with the condition at all stages from diagnosis and beyond.  We give a voice to people with type 1 diabetes and campaign for an increased focus on and funding for research to find the cure. Internationally we have funded £1billion of research so far.

Your role will be to take lead responsibility on a number of special events, managing the budget and ensuring that financial targets are met, participants are recruited and stewarded to maximise fundraising potential and take operational responsibility for the event both before and after.

As a member of the Special Events team, consisting of the Special Events Manager and Special Events Co-ordinator, you will assist the Special Events Manager in the development and implementation of JDRF’s Event Strategy that will increase the number of events available to JDRF and its audiences and grow income for the charity.

As a highly organised and innovative Special Events Fundraiser you will have a track record of delivering a number of fundraising special events ranging from gala dinners to sporting events. You will have the ability to achieve results through building strong lasting relationships with individuals and organisations. You will work across departments, so interpersonal skills are of high importance. You will need the confidence to deal with people at the very highest level, managing high-profile volunteers with diplomacy and discretion.

This is an exciting time to join JDRF. The Special Events team is growing and there are a number of high-profile supporter-led events to manage as well as the opportunity to grow the charity’s own special event portfolio.

In return we offer, a generous annual leave entitlement rising with length of service, Pension scheme, interest free season ticket/bike loan, Health Cash Plan and Childcare Voucher scheme.
