Are you keen to apply your skills in donor engagement and programme fundraising in a charity that has been working at the forefront of the HIV epidemic for the past 30 years?  AVERT is looking for an experienced international development sector fundraiser who will bring on new funding relationships with donors and partners in the trusts, foundations and institutional donor community.

With excellent people, presentation and networking skills, the right candidate will enjoy working for a small organisation that gives opportunities for growth, flexibility, development and leadership. You will have previously accomplished six figure income targets and have a proven track record of building and managing effective funding relationships.

With funds already in place to meet our current operations, we are now specifically looking to develop partnerships with trusts, foundations and institutional donors (including tech-for-good funders) who are aligned to our new strategy and who can support programme growth, particularly around the support we give to our NGO partners, innovation and digital health.

AVERT has been a charity at the forefront of the HIV response since 1986. By sharing knowledge, we empower people to protect themselves and others from infection, reduce stigma and improve HIV programmes globally. Through AVERT website we reached around 11 million people last year from 180 countries. Through our partnerships with local NGOs in Southern Africa we were also able to reach over 45,000 people with knowledge to empower informed health choices.

We offer a great working environment in the seaside city of Brighton, a friendly team atmosphere, and attractive benefits including an employer contribution pension scheme.

International travel to AVERT’s partners in Southern Africa will be required from time to time.

  • Salary: £35,000 - £39,000 PA (depending on skills and experience), plus attractive benefits and 8% employer contribution pension scheme
  • Hours of work: 35 hours per week.  A flexible working policy is in place. (We are open to considering this role as part-time, at a minimum 28 hours per week)
  • Paid leave: 28 days per annum, plus bank holidays (based on full-time)
  • Location: AVERT Brighton
  • Contract: Full time, Permanent.
