Does the idea of working with some of the world’s top medical scientists in tackling the ‘big diseases’ where 100,000s of lives can be saved sound exciting? As you read this advertisement our scientists are working on a targeted treatment that would halt dementia in its tracks, a vaccine for Ebola and new ways to treat diabetes - you can help to make these types of medical advances possible.

We are seeking a talented development professional to lead and drive a strategy that will take our fundraising in medical sciences to a new level.  With the momentum of Europe’s largest fundraising campaign – ‘Oxford Thinking’ – the world’s top medical school, and ground breaking projects including an  interdisciplinary institute of biochemistry and  a centre for infection and vaccinology, there is no shortage of opportunity to make an impact.

You will be working closely with the Head of the Medical Sciences Division and other senior leaders to identify and drive forward key strategic priorities.  Guiding a small, highly capable team of Development professionals, you will build powerful relationships with the potential to make a transformational impact on the work of the Medical Sciences at Oxford.

We can offer a dynamic and innovative environment which fosters new ideas and approaches and we will value your contribution to maximising the benefit that our supporters and partners can bring.

Confident and credible at a senior level, you will have a successful track record in major gift fundraising. You do not need to have experience of the health sector but you will need to demonstrate strong leadership qualities, an  ability to build high level relationships and a passion for the power of education to change lives for the better.

Closing date for applications: 9am on Monday 12th June 2017.

The client is happy to conduct telephone interviews for overseas candidates.
