This is an exciting time for us as we open our new Hospice in Goldsworth Park at the end of May 2017.

The role exists to provide Community Fundraising activities to a defined area in the Hospices region of North West Surrey. The role will be 5 days per week which will include weekend and evening working. We would however consider a flexible working week for the right candidate. The role will involve frequent travel within the area therefore you will need access to a car.

This is an exciting but demanding role and you will need to demonstrate a professional approach, excellent interpersonal skills; have the ability to liaise effectively and establish good working relationships and be computer literate. Ideally it would be great if you have some community fundraising experience, however most important of all we are looking for people with the transferable skills needed to help us to generate funds through our local communities. If you feel you have these attributes we would be delighted to hear from you.

Such groups are wide and varied and will include local churches, Rotary and Lions clubs and other community based clubs and associations.

To set up and develop new ‘Friends of’ groups where no current group exists. The aim and purpose of the Friends of group will be to establish fundraising support for the hospices in the heart of local communities, with a regular calendar of events and a continuity sustainability plan for the chair and members.

  • To secure local Charity Champions in the area that could exist independently of the above groups to help promote Hospice events and products.

  • To promote existing activities to local communities, including:

    • Raffles / Lotteries

  • To work with the retail arm of the charity to use the shops to host and launch groups and promote activities in line with guidelines and the calendar of events.

  • To prioritise the level of support provided to Just Giving, BT My Donate, Virgin Giving event fundraisers by identifying those individuals with the greatest fundraising potential.

  • To be responsible for online social media promotion and support of events and fundraisers within your communities, with the aim of creating better engagement and attracting new supporters.

  • To represent and proactively promote the Hospices within the local community with talks, cheque presentations and appearances to a high standard as required.

  • To specifically target a younger potential fundraising audience than currently exists in the area.
