The children and young people who come to Acorns all have serious and complex life limiting or life threatening conditions. We offer care and support services to suit each individual family’s needs and do whatever we can to help them and their child.  We firmly believe that no family should go through this alone, so as a fundraising team we must raise significant funds to ensure we are there for each and every one of them. This is why we need someone like you to join our community fundraising team and inspire the local community to join us in our vision.

About the role

In this exciting and diverse role, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and delivering the Acorns’ events programme including Acorn’s own events and third party events, incorporating international, national and regional fundraising events, to achieve agreed income and expenditure targets. You will Identify new event opportunities, assess their potential for Acorns and make costed recommendations to the Head of Fundraising. You will design and deliver events participant communications to ensure that we are maximising our potential fundraising from our participants. Providing timely and accurate information to events participants; you will inspire and motivate event participants by maximising communication opportunities across all media platforms whilst you enhance and develop the Acorns supporter journey. 

About you

You will have experience in running a successful events programme from initial concept to completion and achieving agreed targets.  Knowledge and experience of fundraising, marketing and promotion would be an advantage.

You will be self-motivated and adept at planning and prioritising your workload to work to tight deadlines, and with experience of, and resilience to meeting targets. Working as part of a team and experienced in working with volunteers, you will be financially aware with a good understanding of budgets and budget processes. You will have an excellent attitude to customer care and behaviour, with the ability to build internal and external relationships at all levels with staff and supporters. Using your excellent written and verbal communication skills, you will be numerate and be proficient in Microsoft packages.

For this role you will be willing to work outside of agreed hours, and have the ability to travel independently.
