About the role: 

The Bid and Tender Manager is a specialist in statutory procurement, tenders and contracts who will lead a national team responsible for developing and delivering the Society’s statutory bids, tenders and contracts that relate to Operations services. 

The postholder will be responsible for bid and tender activity, achieving a current income of circa £26m and for meeting ambitious growth targets. They will provide expertise on statutory procurement and be responsible for the management of risk associated with tender and contracts. 

The Bid and Tender Manager will ensure the production of accurate and timely reporting and will act as the ‘Bid and Tender’ source of information and expertise for Operations Leadership Team as required. 

About you: 

This specialist management role calls for experience in bid and tender writing and experience of competitive tendering for statutory services. You will have experience of managing or supporting others in successful bid and tender writing and a good understanding of OJEU (Official Journal of European Union) and local authority and health procurement processes. 

You will have an excellent understanding and experience in contract life cycle management and the NHS Standard Contract, and have experience in identifying, securing and managing statutory grants. 

Educated to degree level or with a similar level of experience you will have a track record in bid and tender writing and extensive experience of competitive tendering for statutory services. You will have excellent communication skills, including writing and presenting bids, tenders, updates, reports and presentations to a variety of audiences.
