About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Central Community Fundraising team at Alzheimer’s Society. This is a fast-paced, creative role working across local communities in the West Midlands area from our office in Olton Wharf, Solihull. You will be working alongside our committed supporters and volunteers, as well as performing a range of administrative and database-led tasks and attending internal and external meetings. You will be joining a high-performing team of seven other community fundraisers raising funds in their own localities across the Central region as well as working across other fundraising disciplines with the corporate, legacy and memory walk fundraisers for Central England and our colleagues across the wider fundraising directorate.

If you have a passion and skill for supporting fundraisers and volunteers, this is an exciting opportunity for you to build on your fundraising and volunteer management experience, and truly make your mark in this rapidly expanding charity.

About you:

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person who has experience of working with donors and volunteers. This is a maternity cover role, so we are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and has ideally worked within a similar role or can demonstrate the relevant skills and experience required in the job description.

You will need to be an excellent communicator, confident in contacting supporters face to face as well as over the telephone. The role also involves giving presentations to various groups, associations and local businesses. This is a role which requires you to manage your own workload and diary; you will need to demonstrate your ability to work well on your own initiative as well as be a real team player. This is a busy and demanding role often with conflicting deadlines so the ability to prioritise your workloads and have an organised, methodical approach is essential.

You will have experience of recruiting, managing and working with volunteers to deliver organisational objectives as well as a proven track record in achieving financial and non-financial targets and good working knowledge of budgets is essential.

The successful candidate will benefit from working in a dynamic and well-supported team where you will have a direct impact on the lives of people affected by dementia.

The ability and willingness to travel independently is essential in this role.

If this sounds like you we would welcome your application.

Alzheimer’s Society is committed to equal opportunities.

You may have experience of the following: Community Fundraiser, Fundraising, Charity, Not for Profit, Third Sector, Volunteer Management, Business Development, Legacy, Fundraiser, Volunteer Manager, Charities etc.
