Turn2us is a leading UK poverty charity which is seeking to fill the new post of Head of Supporter Development.

Over 13 million people in the UK live in poverty. Turn2us, formerly known as Elizabeth Finn Care, is a charity that has been supporting people living in poverty in the UK and Ireland since 1897. We play a leading role in connecting those people to the practical help that exists but which is often not accessed.  Over recent years we have restructured and rebranded to create a streamlined charity and effective fundraising brand.  We are ambitious to expand our work to help even more people and to do this we need to grow our income base.

We are now seeking an energetic, experienced individual to help us take our fundraising to the next level. Reporting to the Director of Development, you will manage a small team of fundraisers, taking responsibility for a range of activities that include individual donors, digital giving, community fundraising, events and legacy marketing.

Your skills will enable you to craft a compelling fundraising case for support and target it to the right audience at the right time. Your experience will enable you to spot opportunities for growth and implement fundraising plans that inspire action, by balancing powerful storytelling with demonstrating the difference that donations can make to people who need our help.

The right candidate will be passionate about creating meaningful long term supporter journeys, underpinned by data, insight and planning that harness technology to improve the supporter’s experience and increasingly offer individuals choice about the nature of their support.

Your commercial acumen and past success will mean that you are comfortable creating a business case for different fundraising programmes and acquisition and retention activity. Your analytical approach and attention to detail will enable you to manage effective systems and processes, while as a natural team player you will have the empathy and personality required to lead a team and build great relationships with supporters, colleagues and volunteers.

This is a vital appointment in an organisation which improves the lives of many thousands of people each year. If you wish to make a lasting difference to the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the UK, we look forward to hearing from you.

Our vision: No one in the UK should live in poverty.

Our mission: To improve the lives of people living in poverty in the UK.

Our role: We help people to access support including welfare benefits, charitable grants and a range of services – online, by phone, and face-to-face through partner organisations and volunteers.
