An exciting opportunity for an experienced fundraiser who wishes to build on their current skills while working in a small team delivering an ambitious new strategy. The position would suit someone with experience of trusts fundraising, prospect research and the ability to write compelling applications.

The Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser will work with the Fundraising and Marketing Manager to develop and deliver a strategy and to ensure fundraising opportunities are maximised.  If you have a proven track record in this type of fundraising this could be a fantastic opportunity for you.

Accountable to: Fundraising and Marketing Manager

Accountable for: Some supervision of volunteers

Purpose of Post: To raise funds from and build relationships with Charitable Trusts and Foundations, promoting the work of the Charity in order to meet fundraising targets. This role will also require a focus on the establishment of a programme of fundraising and cultivation events to drive support for the organisation.

Contract: Permanent full-time post, 35 hours per week – flexible including some evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.

Salary: Circa £25,000pa depending on experience

Main Tasks

Devise and implement an ambitious strategy with focused on managing and developing relationships with Trusts and Foundations, ensuring that fundraising budgets are met.

Generate compelling copy to articulate the organisation’s case for support to inspire and influence Trusts and Foundations.

Use the Donorflex database to support successful fundraising and donor management including data maintenance, reporting and segmenting.

Produce quality monitoring and evaluation reports.

Liaise with the Marketing Officer to ensure effective messaging, communication and engagement with relevant parties both internally and externally.

Ensure that donors are cultivated, thanked and stewarded appropriately, and represent the Fundraising and Marketing Department at events and activities at which existing and potential donors may be present.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

Essential

  • Excellent knowledge of Trust and Foundation fundraising with a proven track record of securing donations of £10,000+
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with an ability to generate compelling copy to articulate Pestalozzi’s case for support
  • Use of CRM databases (e.g. Donorflex, Raiser’s Edge, Progress)
  • Excellent IT skills in particular with Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook
  • Ability to work well as part of a diverse team while taking decisive ownership of specific areas of responsibility
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent time management
  • Clean driving licence
  • Desirable
  • Liaising with young people to produce marketing materials
  • Interest in international development through education
  • Good social media skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
