As Brooke ends its first year of transition to the new strategy, the Finance Business Partnering (FBP) team has been busy over the past 12 months laying down the foundations to support the organisation in its endeavour. These foundations include rolling out SUN systems to branches and affiliates, defining a new common chart of accounts, establishing a multi-year planning and budgeting process and the improvement of organisational processes that aid recording and reporting of financial information.

With the building blocks in place, the role responsibilities within the FBP team have been changed to reflect an agile function that is both empowered and accountable and ultimately leads to more effective collaboration with key stakeholders to aid decision-making against the background of sound governance. This next phase of evolution of the FBP team will provide role holders with the exciting opportunity to establish themselves within finance and the organisation as a whole.

The Role
This role will see you collaborate with the Fundraising & Communications Director, Heads of Departments and individual fundraising teams to achieve organisational objectives.

We are looking for a fully qualified accountant with an excellent understanding of both the external fundraising environment and the increased compliance responsibilities on fundraisers, resulting from changes to fundraising legislation.

You will have demonstrable experience of supporting senior fundraising stakeholders internally by utilising their commercial knowledge to aid the decision-making process, whilst assessing any associated risks and benefits.

About Us
Brooke has launched its ambitious new five-year global strategy following a sustained period of outstanding growth in improving the health and wellbeing of working horses, donkeys and mules across the world.

We have achieved this by engaging effectively with communities for better welfare, treatment and veterinary services and through the successful lobbying of key global players to change policy and practice for the mutual benefit of both the animals and their owners – the millions of people whose livelihoods depend on them. Brooke currently reaches 2 million working animals benefitting 12 million people.

We actively recruit talented individuals who can bring their professional expertise to a growing organisation which prides itself on being a leading animal welfare INGO operating across a growing number of countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia.

In Return
Not only will you play a vital role in improving the health and wellbeing of working horses, donkeys and mules across the world, you will enjoy a benefits package comprising 25 days’ annual leave, contributory pension scheme and life assurance.

Closing date: 1st September 2017.

The Brooke is an equal opportunities employer.
