Virgin Money has chosen Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Research UK to be joint charity partners for the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon (VMLM). The two organisations will be working together on the campaign “Dementia Revolution” to fund world class dementia research in the UK. We are looking for someone to provide project management across both organisations to develop, coordinate, and drive this partnership opportunity with Virgin Money and achieve our income and awareness ambitions through it.

Main tasks include:

  • Project management of the overall project plan
  • Lead project group communications and meetings, and work with various teams in both charities to plan and schedule activities
  • Coordinate and support runner data management and work with the sporting teams from both charities to develop and implement a plan to recruit runners through the ballot and charity places
  • Work with teams in both organisations to help coordinate the development of the Dementia Revolution campaign messaging and materials across a wide range of platforms
  • Maximise opportunities from the partnership to increase the reach of the campaign
  • Development of effective working relationships at both charities and the VMLM, leading cross-functional teams on all partnership activities
  • An income target of £3.5m by May 2019
  • Managing income and expenditure budgets along with financial processes

We are looking for:

  • Education to degree level or with equivalent experience in a relevant field
  • Project Management qualifications and/or experience
  • Excellent writing skills, attention to detail, and strategic and critical thinking
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional or charity teams to deadlines to achieve common goals
  • Ability to manage multi-faceted project plans to tight deadlines
  • Experience developing and delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns
  • Knowledge of Virgin Money and the London Marathon

This position comes with the flexibility to be home-based in London, at either of our offices near Cambridge and in London, or a combination of the three.

This is a fixed-term position until 31 July 2019
