Community Fundraiser

Wirral Ark is looking for an experienced Community Fundraiser. This is a newly created post for an exerienced homeless charity that is developing its fundraising team. Based across the Wirral, the fundraiser will organise activities and events that generate income and raise the profile of the charity with our stakeholders, existing donors and the general public.

This is an exciting time for Wirral Ark. We are in the process of redeveloping our main homeless accomodation, a 27 bedroom property close to central Birkenhead. In order to maximise the use of this space, Wirral Ark is undertaking an ambitious strategic plan that will give the charity long term stability and the short term flexibility that will allow us to deliver the very best services in the region.

As part of this we are developing a fundraising plan, the next stage of which is the appointment of a Community Fundraiser. There is every reason to believe that an effective Community Fundraiser will succeed. Wirral Ark has many local contacts, not least its members, comprising over 100 churches and other organisations. The Community Fundraiser will have a significant number of prospects to work with, people who have either given in the past or retain an interest in our work. We also have links with local schools, voluntary and civic organisations, and businesses. The Community Fundraiser will, initially at least, be able to focus on these existing connections.

Our aim over the coming years is to continue to expand our fundraising team. We currently have a trusts fundraiser on board and will expand in the future. Therefore the successful candidate will have an opportunity to feed into the long term fundraising planning, offering worthwhile long term context to the role.
