Full Fact is working to solve the problem that stops so many others getting solved: the abuse of facts in public debate. We’re the UK’s independent non-partisan factchecking charity.

We’re recruiting our first Fundraising Manager as we double in size to 20 staff.

This is a brand new role and a unique opportunity for someone to start building a dedicated professional fundraising function for a growing charity as part of a supportive and ambitious team.

Your task will be to work with the Director to devise and run an effective fundraising, growth, and donor care plan, and to meet an agreed income budget.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of successful fundraising, identifying and researching potential funding opportunities, cultivating donors, organising as well as doing fundraising, and following through with effective donor accountability. You will be a persuasive writer for audiences with high standards.

You will need experience of trusts and foundations fundraising, as that’s a key part of our income mix now, and we’re looking for someone who will be able to operate across the full range of fundraising, including corporate and major donor giving.

You’ll be working with a management team that’s strong on fundraising: Full Fact has grown from around £150k to around £1m since 2010 with a wide range of sources. We also have great trustees and support from respected trusts and donors. But you’ll see opportunities we don’t now, plan and organise our fundraising, and deploy senior staff where they can do most good.

Full Fact’s work has impact. We have obtained corrections from a Prime Minister and other senior politicians, newspapers, and broadcasters. We have seen government departments and national media outlets change how they work in response to our factchecking. We’ve worked with the BBC, ITV, and Sky; Facebook and Google; the ONS and leading universities. We’re leading the way on automated factchecking and research into factchecking effectiveness. Your work will make all that happen, and more.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a charity with a strong track record and strong growth, finding practical solutions to the problem of misinformation that is now widely recognised as both urgent and important.
