We are looking for an experienced Fundraising and Development Manager to join RICE at an important and exciting time of growth for the organisation. This role will be key to achieving our strategic growth through 2019 and beyond. You will lead our fundraising activity and our multi-year DementiaPlus Appeal, and will develop new opportunities whilst ensuring existing income streams are maintained and improved.  As a member of the senior management team you will work closely with colleagues across the organisation to deliver strategy and will participate in Board of Trustee meetings.

In particular, we are looking for proven experience of successful income growth, with a focus primarily on multi-year appeals, trust and foundation income, corporate partnerships, legacies, community and communications.  You have both a strategic and operational ‘hands on’ approach to income generation and a track record of setting and achieving financial targets and significantly growing multiple income streams. You will enjoy working for a small charity/not-for-profit company and have the ability to work on your own to deliver to deadlines. Your interest in health and research charities and/or previous experience of working with people with dementia or in the older age group will be an advantage.

RICE is an independent charity and an internationally renowned centre for dementia research, diagnosis and treatment. Our research aims to improve life for people with dementia and their families and carers,  and to find drug and non-drug treatments for people with conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease and other diseases predominantly affecting older people; our Memory Clinic and allied services also provide support to patients, families and carers. In 2015 we embarked on an ambitious new phase of development that includes plans to significantly increase our clinical and academic research programme. We work closely with the Universities of Bath, Bristol and other research institutions, both nationally and internationally.

Applicants must have the right to live and work in the United Kingdom, and all employees of RICE are required to undergo a DBS check.

To apply by email:  Please submit a CV and covering letter outlining how you meet the criteria for the role, and provide the names and contact details of two referees, indicating clearly whether we may approach your referees prior to appointment.
