This role is a development opportunity for an ambitious individual who wants the chance to help shape and grow our community and events fundraising. This role is based in central London.

Scleroderma & Raynaud's UK (SRUK) is the only charity dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by Scleroderma and Raynaud's. We exist to improve awareness and understanding of these conditions, to support those affected, and ultimately to find a cure.

This is an exciting time to join the organisation as we scale up to deliver on our ambition to significantly increase the level of investment in research and services, so that people affected by Scleroderma and Raynaud's have access to the most relevant treatment, information and support.

The senior management team and trustees have aspirations to grow a vibrant charity, through engaging and motivating the community to fundraise and build sustainable income streams that enable the charity to improve the lives of those affected.

Working with the Head of Engagement and Development the Community and Events Fundraising Officer will:

  • Successfully implement the fundraising strategy for community and event fundraising.
  • Rapidly grow community and events income within the first two years and create a sustainable community and events programme to continue growth.
  • Foster and strengthen relationships with community and event fundraisers, maximising fundraising and developing long-term supporters by deploying high standards of customer care.
  • Regularly assess & evaluate the effectiveness of community and event fundraising activity including income and expenditure and analysis of events, producing reports for senior management as required.
  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager and Digital Communication Officer to ensure that all events are appropriately marketed and all public relations opportunities are maximised.

As Community and Events Fundraising Officer, you will play a key role in developing SRUK’s community and event income through cultivating relationships with community and event fundraisers to grow the current programme of events, increase income generation and foster long-term supporters.

You will have proven experience working within community and event fundraising and a proven track record in achieving financial targets and key objectives, a clear understanding of donor acquisition and retention strategies, excellent communication and written skills and the ability to develop new innovative approaches. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is results driven and is looking to be responsible for a broad portfolio within community and event fundraising.

We are looking for individuals with a desire to create positive change and to make a real difference to the lives of people with Scleroderma and Raynaud’s.
