The post-holder will work as a key member of Maggie’s Development Team and will be responsible for raising revenue and capital funds from Major Donors to an annual target of not less than £1 million. This key role will be responsible for working on the major donor revenue plan for London and for new and existing campaigns through a mixed portfolio of individual major gift approaches. They will ensure the effective identification and cultivation of prospects through volunteer networks and nominations, engagement and re-engagement of warm supporters and new prospect research and will create and make use of a programme of information and cultivation events. They will personally manage an extensive range of relationships, including prospects, donors, volunteers and other stakeholders in order to achieve fundraising goals and objectives and in accordance with Maggie’s donor care policy.

The post-holder will establish collaborative working relationships both internally and externally. Internally the post holder will be working with other senior staff across the organisation including Maggie’s CEO. The post-holder will also work with other Major Gift Leads, Campaign Managers, the Head of Trusts, the Partnerships Manager, the Special Events team, Heads of Centre Fundraising, Heads of Centre Operations, prospect researchers, and Fundraising Operations.

Externally the post-holder will be working with volunteers, board members, donors, prospects and other key stakeholders. They will also have responsibility for ensuring that all major donors are managed in accordance with Maggie’s donor care policy.

As a member of the Development team, the post-holder will contribute to the development and implementation of Maggie’s overall fundraising strategy in order to maximise opportunities for support across all income streams at a major level.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level and have strong track record of major gift fundraising or equivalent experience.
