Newnham College, University of Cambridge

Development Director

Competitive Salary and Benefits

Cambridge, UK

Established in 1871 as a house in which young women could reside while attending lectures in Cambridge, Newnham College has and continues to champion academic excellence for women.

With its diverse and welcoming community, current Senior Members of Newnham are engaged in world-leading research across a wide range of fields, students enjoy a comprehensive and well-rounded experience at College, and their highly engaged alumnae have gone on to contribute to Newnham and wider society in many ways.

Following the successful conclusion of the Changing Lives Campaign in December 2014, Newnham has been strengthening relations with its alumnae community through its extensive event programme and specific fundraising projects. With the 150th anniversary of the College’s founding in 2021, there is an exciting opportunity for a new Development Director to further build on the recent alumnae and philanthropic engagement efforts and play a significant role in driving the success of the College for the future.

With a proven track record in engaging a variety of stakeholders and raising philanthropic support at a significant scale, you are a strategic thinker and operator, and a proactive and resilient individual with the ability to inspire and lead others.  Your sophisticated interpersonal skills and communication style will be instrumental to your success in this post, along with your talent in building long-lasting and beneficial relationships.  You are also educated to degree standard, or the equivalent through professional qualifications or experience.
