About Us: 

BookTrust is the largest children’s reading charity. Reaching nearly 3.4 million children each year, we aim to transform lives by getting families and children reading. 

We are now seeking an Individual Giving Manager to join our BookTrust team of over 70 and help us continue to do our amazing work.

We believe it is vital to enable children to develop a love of reading from a young age because reading can transform lives. 

Through schools, libraries and healthcare providers, in 2016-17 we reached over 3.4 million children providing books, guidance and support to get families reading together.  We also sent over 11,000 parcels to children in care. We couldn’t have achieved any of this without the support of our donors. 

Individual giving is a vital part of our fundraising work and through the support of members of the public we can continue our work reaching millions of children, including those that need us the most. This is an exciting time to join the team as we are looking to grow and diversify our fundraising activities.

You will have the chance to work in this vital team within the organisation and your work will directly affect how many people we can reach and the impact of our work. 

Your Role: 

As the Individual Giving Manager, you will join a small fundraising team and forge and implement plans to acquire, retain and develop one-off and regular givers. 

You will aim to achieve income targets and will work on a variety of projects such as a Christmas appeal, increasing our regular givers building on previous successes, and managing a new fundraising event for 2019. 

Your role will also involve: 

- Managing the development and implementation of fundraising appeals and campaigns from developing creative to analysing results
- Creating fundraising materials and newsletters
- Managing the Fundraising Assistant 
- Overseeing Individual Giving income and expenditure budgets
- Overseeing the recording of donor information on our CRM and the stewardship of donors
- Managing the agency relationships 

About You: 

To be considered as an Individual Giving Manager, you will need: 

- Experience within charity fundraising or membership 
- Experience of people management 
- A proactive and highly motivated approach 
- An engaging, approachable nature 
- The ability to work with and develop others, take on others’ ideas and gain support and buy-in from colleagues 

Individual giving charity experience would be beneficial to your application.
