  • Location London, Greater London (On-site)
  • Job Type Permanent
  • Sectors Youth/Children
  • Job Reference :

Full-time, however we would support flexible working, over a minimum 28 hours per week

We’re looking for an experienced and creative fundraiser with a passion for supporting a growing number of kinship carers who are raising around 150,000 children in England and Wales whose parents are unable to look after them, commonly due to drug or alcohol misuse, domestic abuse, imprisonment or death.

Although children in kinship care have frequently experienced trauma, abuse or neglect, they and their carers are rarely entitled to statutory support. Grandparents Plus can be a lifeline. We’re at the forefront of transforming support for kinship carers: we offer vital independent advice and programmes, raise awareness and drive policy and practice change through research, campaigns and partnerships.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for generating significant funds, primarily from grant-making trusts, foundations and lottery sources, reaching agreed income targets to enable the charity to grow reach and impact.

We’re a small, national charity with a new and ambitious business plan. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, grabbing every opportunity to contribute to the development of our services to reach and support more people, and lead the development of the fundraising function. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you’ll play a key role in developing and implementing plans to diversify our income portfolio and drive sustainable income growth, including securing income from trusts, foundations, corporates and individuals.

This is a developing role and we are looking for someone with solid skills in raising funds from trusts and foundations and also a wider knowledge and interest in developing new funding streams.

To apply, please send your CV with a supporting statement to show how you meet the criteria set out in the person specification.

Closing date: Noon on 24th May 2018.

Interview date: 4th June 2018.
