Events Assistant 

This is a great opportunity for an events professional to progress their career in a rewarding role for a national assistance dog charity! 

Canine Partners is an assistance dog charity which transforms the lives of disabled people through partnership with our specially trained assistance dogs. Our assistance dogs are trained to meet the needs of individuals with even the most complex physical disabilities. We help adults who have a physical disability or condition that affects their daily life and limits their independence. 

With almost 400 disabled people now living with a fully trained canine partner in the UK our reach continues to increase. 

To help us create these amazing partnerships, we need amazing people. We have an exciting new role for an Events and Challenges Fundraiser to join our Fundraising, Marketing & Communications department based either at our training centre in Heyshott, West Sussex or Osgathorpe, Leicestershire.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: £19,099 to £23,873 per annum

About the Role: 

In this rewarding role, you will be responsible for generating and maximising income from Canine Partners’ organised fundraising events. You will help us to develop and deliver an exciting programme of mass participation events for Canine Partners, taking overall responsibility for the planning, organising and delivery of all events and engaging supporters, through effective communication and project management. The role will work in collaboration with other members of the Fundraising team to support the overall charity outcome with a strong focus on growing event income. 

You will lead on the development of the annual event plan and ensuring its implementation. You will ensure our events reach and exceed set financial income targets, ensuring an effective ROI. By using innovative ideas and creativity to design new events, you will maximise the opportunity to raise awareness to new audiences. 

About You: 

You will have experience of events management, ideally in a fundraising role and experience in admin support. You will have excellent communication skills with the skill to engage, inspire and motivate our volunteers, with the ability to find the right tone to engage with supporters and key stakeholders. 

You’ll be a strong team player with excellent prioritisation and organisational skills. You’ll be able to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, think laterally and meet deadlines. You will also have a track record in meeting and exceeding targets and experience of using a database to manage participant data and generate reports. 

Our ideal candidate will also have experience working with volunteers and be an imaginative, creative, solution-based thinker who prides themselves on their meticulous attention to detail. You will also be experienced in project planning, delivery and evaluation of successful fundraising campaigns with great relationship building skills. Events often happen at weekends and evenings, so a willingness to travel and work out of usual office hours is essential.
