£29-34,000 pa.

Birmingham Hippodrome B5 4TB

A great theatre needs great people.  We can only thrive by having the right team on board in a fast-paced, constantly changing, creative workplace.

About Us

Presenting the best in musical theatre, ballet and opera, dance, drama, comedy and pantomime, we work successfully with some of the world’s biggest international producers.  With our resident partners Birmingham Royal Ballet and DanceXchange; with collaborators such as Welsh National Opera and Sadler’s Wells; and with names like Cameron Mackintosh, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Qdos Pantomimes, and the National Theatre dull moments don’t get a look in.

Average annual paid attendance of over half a million theatre-goers underlines our claim to be the UK’s busiest and most popular single theatre.  We are managed by a voluntary board of Trustees as an independent charity with no revenue subsidy from the public purse.  In our main auditorium or Patrick Studio, in our conference spaces or restaurant, and in schools and communities, we make sure that everyone is welcome, we settle for nothing but the best and we bring flair to everything we do.

About The Role

You will play a key part in delivering against the aims and targets of our Fundraising Strategy and broader strategic plan by taking responsibility for developing an income generation approach for trusts and grants. This will involve using your expertise and a range of tools to identify and filter potential grant funders as well as build a funding pipeline. We will also look to you to extend our reach by spotting other relevant grant opportunities. You will create compelling cases for support and work with colleagues to shape bids and draft applications as well as develop our fundraising toolkit.

Naturally warm and enthusiastic, you will have a proven track record of securing funding from Trusts and grant givers. Experienced in the sector you will have a proactive approach to researching and identifying opportunities as well as the ability to produce successful applications and proposals that reflect best practice in fundraising. You will also have the capability to tailor approaches to meet differing funders needs.

A proficient user of IT systems, you will also possess strong networking, communication and presentation skills. Comfortable managing multiple projects you will be good at meeting deadlines and enjoy hitting targets.

At Birmingham Hippodrome we are committed to providing equal opportunities for everyone.
